complete renovation of an old farmhouse
at auginac, dordogne 2003-2005
The whole of the interior was stripped out and renovated to provide three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, one large living room, a similar sized dining room/kitchen and a utility room. All the windows were enlarged and frames replaced in oak. A new oak staircase, under floor central heating, and complete rewiring. The ground floor was tiled throughout and the first floor was a “sandwich” of the original oaks beams supporting 25mm chestnut boarding, a 75mm self levelling screed and 25mm of polished oak board on top.
Exterior work included a 2m high x 21m x 0.6m thickness retaining wall at the rear of the house and the design of a double garage and swimming pool (for a possible next phase)
